LTE makes the moon mission possible

The first private initiated moon landing of the Berlin PTScientists will be the basis for further missions, perhaps even for the first village on the Moon, as the furthest outpost of humanity. With Vodafone's LTE technology, it will be possible for the first time to see high-resolution images of the moon and the original landing site of Apollo 11 - the first human to enter the moon when Neil Armstrong arrived. Therefore, the landing module ALINA establishes a radio connection to the earth - and becomes the first LTE base station on the moon. Two Audi Lunar Quattro moonrover explore the Earth satellite, while ALINA always connects them to each other and to the command center in Berlin Marzahn on Earth.

"With Vodafone, we have found an outstanding technology partner for travel into space, and LTE, a technology with space potential, because the control of the spaceship and the safe landing are just one side of the coin - an energy-efficient network, with which we Controlling devices and operations, and thus the entire mission up there, makes true research possible, and that's exactly what LTE offers, "says Robert Böhme, CEO of PTScientists. Vodafone Germany boss Hannes Ametsreiter adds: "With our commitment, we not only want to make a contribution to infrastructure, but also show that something very special is created from the very small: with courage, pioneering spirit and ingenuity Made in Germany.
